As a lover of fine wines and export manager for the past 12 years at La Sommelière, I have witnessed the evolution of the brand and the growing commitment of our teams. We've gone from a handful of employees to an international group, leader in the European market. Since its creation, the brand's ambition has been clear: to make wine preservation and temperature control accessible to everyone, everywhere.
When I arrived, the desire to share our expertise around the world was clear, and the group had just opened its first subsidiary in Madrid, La Sommelière Iberica (2008), which is now celebrating its 15th anniversary. Since last year, a second subsidiary in the Nordic countries has reinforced our determination. The international development of the La Sommelière brand has always driven our sales and product development departments.
Today, our customers are a perfect illustration of our desire to democratize wine. Restaurateurs, hoteliers, wine merchants, vineyards and private individuals in France, Europe and around the world; we offer La Sommelière wine cellars and wine-related products in over 75 countries: from Scandinavia to Malta, Iceland to Georgia, North America, the Indian Ocean and Central and South-East Asia. By 2022, international sales will account for almost half of the Group's total sales.
The Group's ambition is simple: "to become the world leader in wine cellars".
Why this ambition? Quite simply because we've been passionate about what we do for years, and we want to share our values, our commitments and our expertise with everyone. Making our wine cellars accessible worldwide is a real challenge, which drives us to constantly rethink our products and anticipate the expectations of all our consumers. This willingness to question ourselves, to optimize our products and to innovate is one of the pillars of our identity La Sommelière. We draw on our knowledge and the latest technologies to constantly enrich and improve wine conservation and tasting by creating new wine cellars adapted to the needs and constraints of each individual. This is the ambition of passionate people who want to share their work with all cultures. This aspiration also enables us to enrich ourselves on a human level, and to progress through constant sharing with our customers around the world.
